Kobold

Here's my take on a Kobold (or Cobold) a creature originating from Germanic Mythology, who took many different forms throughout the years. At the origin they were some sort of sprite or goblin, sometimes acting as house spirits, sometimes living in mines... Some of them take animal and/or elemental forms, and some are just pure immaterial spirits !

They also have been portrayed as dog-headed humanoids, and as reptilian goblins in the Dungeons & Dragons RPGs, which is the version I decided to focus on. Still, I see my version as a cave dweller, attracted to precious metals, and who enjoys tricking miners into taking worthless (or even poisonous/pollutant) ore, as in the original legends. These very ores were named "cobalt" because of kobolds.
