Animal Gang - Basil the Basilisk (research)

Now, here's some concept arts for animated shorts projects in the context of my animation curriculum ! I decided, for one of these, to exploit my gang of animals ! But I also proposed other character designs for the same character ! Here, we have concept arts for the little yet very smart basilisk lizard of the group, whom I used to name Basil. I can't come up with better name ideas for this one...

He is the brain of the group, although he measures only about 50 centimeters. Being a basilisk lizard, he can run on water, and loves to sunbathe. But unlike any other basilisk, he can pretty much craft anything he needs from pretty much anything... He even built tools at his size to build gadgets more efficiently. He even built a frigging ray gun from a small hairdryer ! He has a whole lab under his vivarium ! And when it comes to exploring the world with his friends, he is the organizer !

And yes, I know there's something wrong with the bottom design's posing...
