I really fell in love with Gustav Holst's symphonic poem "The Planets" a few years ago. I thought that this music deserved to be turned into a Fantasia-like animated movie, with each movement presenting a different alien world with its own characters, associated to the music, the actual planet (to some extent), and the mythological/astrological signification of the celestial bodies.
Some concepts materialized in my mind, while listening, and I put it on paper, to perhaps make a study project out of these. Now, here's the only concept art sheet I did for the protagonist of the segment called "Uranus, the Magician". I could do more, basing myself on the design on the left, which I prefer, with longer legs while keeping a rather short torso, a bit like Disney's Jafar. I decided to call him Unarus (although I called him Sunaru, formerly), and he would be a lonely wizard/alchemist/scholar, sinister and austere, but not malevolent.
