Here is my vision of Yam (or Yaw, or Ym, or Yammu, meaning "sea" in canaanite), the Levantine/Semitic god of the primordial chaotic sea, and rivers ! He rules over storms, has his palace in the depths of the abyss, and has a seven-headed serpent named Lotan as his "pet".
The latter is often confused with Yam, although both entities inspired the biblical Leviathan, like the Mesopotamian goddess Tiamat, and Rahab, the fallen angel of the deep.
Yam was the first opponent fought by Baal Hadad, the god of thunder and fertility, and the two hated each other.
