The Planets - Mercury - Merk character concepts

I really fell in love with Gustav Holst's symphonic poem "The Planets" a few years ago. I thought that this music deserved to be turned into a Fantasia-like animated movie, with each movement presenting a different alien world with its own characters, associated to the music, the actual planet (to some extent), and the mythological/astrological signification of the celestial bodies.

Some concepts materialized in my mind, while listening, and I put it on paper, to perhaps make a study project out of these. So here are the two character design researches pages for the protagonist of the movement named "Mercury, the Winged Messenger", whom I chose to name Merk ! He would be some sort of postman/herald/town crier on his planet :)
